page once mileage tracking softwarePageOnce is a do-it-all app business travelers depend on and leisure travelers revel in. Recommended by a host of publications from the NY Times to CNET, the largest mobile personal finance service in the US does everything from monitor credit card transactions and investment portfolios to track airline mileage. PageOnce is my mileage and hotel points tracking system. Even though I try to accumulate points with one airline alliance/hotel group, there are times when I have to veer off this path, making keeping track of multiple point structures daunting without a system. With points constantly expiring, I can't stress enough how important it is to have a mileage points manager if you like free travel!

For example, I have some points with One World airline alliance, but in order to use them for the flight I want to take to the ABC islands in low season {find out how get to the ABC islands for the same points usage as flying inter-US}, I need to make sure I donate points or take a flight to keep them active, so I can actually book that flight to Aruba, Curacao or Bonaire next fall.

Sit or Squat travel appWhen you gotta go, you gotta go! Now there's an app for that offering map and list-based info on the closest bathroom. The 99,000 worldwide listings are constantly growing given the app's user-generated content. Users can add new listings, review current restrooms and even see a picture of a salle de bain before deciding whether to SitOrSquat. Moms and dads, there's even a search function for bathrooms with changing tables. The fun doesn't stop here: for some bathrooms, you can even find out extra details like if there's condom- or lady product- dispensing machines.

This app works best in major cities like New York with lots of active bathroom users and reviewers. I tried this app for Vancouver and the results are decent. I'm looking forward to trying it out this coming weekend in Portland...if nature calls and there are no facilities in sight.

I like this app as a back-up plan. Being the world's ultimate bathroom finder is a tall order, but I salute the app's creators and Charmin---the app's sponsor, and not surprisingly a toilet paper company---for trying. Finally, if you're really in a #1 or #2 jam, you can text the word "sitorsquat" to DOTCOM (368266) and follow instructions to find the closest bathroom to you.

Created to quickly and efficiently answer the TSA's 'regular' traveler questions, this app can tell you what you can and can't bring on board an airplane via lists or search, airport status', security wait times and a few travel tips to boot.

This app would have come in very handy last month when my husband and I arrived at the Seattle airport with minutes---okay seconds---to spare before boarding our flight to Maui for our Tropical {weekend} Experiment. Knowing the security line-up's wait time would have been a plus as far as whether to run or walk through the airport.

If you ever travel from, within or via a US airport, downloading this app is highly recommended. Also, many of the rules are similar in Canada, so it's also a great resource for flights within Canada as well as international travel.

For example, for terminal tranquility do the flight-got-bumped rag doll stretch, or the sitting-in-a-plane-seat crossed leg twist.

I don't normally like to pay for travel apps, but the stretching reminders and associated mental and physical benefits this app affords are worth it (to me) at $0.99.
